This past weekend was the largest convention of transformers in Europe- Auto Assembly.
This is one of my favourite events of the year not only because I a big transformer geek but it's relaxed, fan friendly, has great guests and is a cheap event. It is a two day event but I only went on the Saturday so alas I did miss out on the live panel script reading and party but still for the low ticket price I defiantly got my money's worth. First off just want to say how relaxed the atmosphere is. There were 700 plus attendiees and it never felt like it. Always room to sit for talks and room to move freely between stalls. The lines for guests were all very steady and was only due to lthe voice guests spending so much time with each person - chatting signing taking photos - that some queues seemed longer for the amount of actual people in it. But when the guests are so nice and really care about meeting the attendees you forget the time it took you to get to the front. But I'm getting ahead of myself let's start at the begining. I arrived at the Hilton at half nice just as the line was being lead in. Was a nice fast queue picked up my badge and goodie bag with ease. The comic creators were already at Thier tables so headed out to procure sketches - first stop was Andrew WIldman who I have met many times and was after a final sketch from him to finish off a piece I had started with him a few years ago - the autobot leader vs the decepticon leader- each picture is of a diff time of the comics and each picture has characters in same pose- the sketch price was twenty pounds which was the steepest at the event but as for two figures it cheaper then most other events , i was put out that he wanted donations to sign comics tho as usually at every event comics are signed for free and i had a fair few to be done. II left my sketch book with him and went on to get some other signatures whilst I await it's completion and contemplated should I pay for the autos. I know the money goes to charity and yes I took a lot to be done but being only one charging put me off a bit. Simon Furman was next to him signing the brand new regeneration issue and were all suprised and happy to see the variant cover i had with me as it was only a few days old and none had seen it yet, i have met simon so many times over the years its gettign harder to talk tranformers and have run out of things to ask btu the new comic has opened up a new world and yet as its ongoing they can never comment - curse you and your non spoiler ways The next guest I went to was digital comic artist livio ramondelli who was very nice did a couple of quick head shots in my trades and if I honest I not like his art in the comics bit seeing the pencil originals and the sketches he was doing I converted - I now will blame the inker and colourist for them looking bad, though I thinks that's him as well. I booked a Cliffjumper commission and we discusse his future plans for the digital transformer comics and how i still cant enjoy comics in that format. Next was on to another Auto Assembly regular and writer of my favorite comic at the moment- Transformers More Than Meets The Eye. Had a good chat regarding the style of the book both in look and the comedy aspect. he has the book plotted until issue 20 and hopes for longer brought from him a script from one of his issues and moved on to the longest comic queue of the day the ever talented Nick Roche sadly by this time his sketch list was full but he did do a quick springer headshot in my hardback trade and nick having heard about my redundancy gave me a free print which i love and also why i love this event, havign been for last 5 years i know alot of the comic people quiet well and makes it seem a lot warmer experience. my next stop was to original uk transformers artists Jeff anderson and Stephen baskerville had nice chat regarding Jeffs previous work and tried to avoid buying any original pages but got an amazing Galvatron and henchmen sketch and had chat with stephen about his new work on the regeneration comic and getting a great Unicron sketch to complete my evil leaders set. The openign ceremony started about 11 and was a fun event with special graphics and intro music per guest. The way the guests interact onstage and with attendees is so different to most events you do forget that they are all famous as they really include you in every aspect of the day. After a bit of a wait finally got to meet the voice actors. Michael Bell was first- i found him warm and interested in what i had to say regarding show and his charcaters in particular. Paul Elding kept disapearing btu when finally caught up to him his line was very long and semed like forever but as soon as you meetthe guy you realise why and that it was worth the wait. He loves talking about the work he has done and why the fans love it so and really makes that brief time with him seem like you known each other for years. He was telling my friends son Elijah secrets to the new Ben 10 series he working on and you could see him enjoyin he excitment in the childs eyes. My last guest meet was from legendary voice of the Tick Townsend Coleman he was funny and loved doing the voices and seeing all the random things people had fo rhim to sign from my random screen shots to actual wooden spoons. i was lucky wenough to get a Tick voice message which made my weekend. i saw bits of the talks whilst was in queues but i couldnt tell you what was being said the main issue with this whole event was the sound. either it was music that was too loud so couldnt talk to the guests easily and then when the guests were on stage couldnt hear the microphones either and the lighting was just as bad hardly any of my photos came out as was too dark with bright backing screen so that was frustrating, other then that couldnt fault the event at all. As usual below are the photos of me with guests and my sketchs, autographs and as usual because i got so many comics signed i wont add them here.

This past Sunday I attended showmasters London film and comiccon this is another of the "meat Market" signing events that I have began to enjoy less and less so wasn't that excited to be going - well until the comic guests were announced - Gary Frank, jim starlin and many other big names so off I went suitcase full of comics camera in hand and a sickness bug in stomach oh yes a fun day lay ahead.
Due to travel and train delays arrived just after ten and expected it to be very busy but it wasn't to bad. Put my name on Gary franks sketch list then went to meet the artist Bit, fernando campas, ramon Bachs Jesus saiz and Who were still quiet so commissioned a sketch from each which was like conveyor belt of artistic talent all six sketching at once and the signing I owned that line I was a comic collecting god mwah ha ha- after collecting up my pieces I ran round to meet comic royalty jim starlin creator of many of marvels cosmic characters including thanos which i got him to do ne brief sketch of, we discussed the use of thanos in the avengers movie and that he liked it and his voice choice would be idris Elba but is hearing they may be casting Arnold schwarzenegger - hmm we shall see we both agreed but like starlin says trust in joss he not let us down so far. then off for quick chat and sketch from creator of War machine Kev Hopgood - nice guy and free sketches what more can a guy ask for. The first media guest of the day was charmed's Holly Marie combs who was meeting with my friends Fiona Michelle and rachel there was a sign saying no posed photos ( annoying as her photo shoot was over and she had done then on Friday at table from other peoples photos i have seen) and so we were going to take some of her signing but they then changed it to no photos at all and ordered my camera away. I said a quick hello to her and didn't really get much of a response back so moved along happy that didnt get auto now as not meet worth £20. Next to her was the overly excited and warm brain krause who was very nice to my me and my friends and photos with. We looked around the room it looked very patchy with alot of guests with no lines and a few random over the top lines but all seemed to have open queues. My first auto was from Robert Maschino- Todd from scrubs who was really nice really fun and dressed in full costume which really made for a good little extra especially when having a trademarked todd high five in my photo. Sadly due to lack of funds I couldn't afford to get the xfiles guests mitch pileggi and Nicholas lea tho I did go through with Michelle and have a nice chat they both nice but not photos with mitch -the next few actors i got were the game of thrones guys beginning with the man from many shows palph ineson- very friendly guy loved his part in the show and he happy how it turned out, Nonso Anozie who had a laugh about his characters fate and poss shagging roxanne mcgees characters to death..well what else he got to do? next up was steven cole who was ok but not as great a meet as the others from the show. Eugene Simon was a genuine friendly guy who had so much time for all the people in hi sline and how hapy he was to work with such great talent of peter dinklege and lene headly. Ross Mullen was great discussing different make up techniques and his hopes for bigger things in the next season. The beautiful Amrita Acharia was my final stop of the line she was sweet but was bit brief as her character never really resonated with me i didnt have much to discuss,Melissa George and Frank spotniz were doing a free promotional talk and signing for new show which even though I had I had a ticket missed talk due to a the Iain Glen queue, but after being turned away managed to join the auto queue very rushed they passed then a postcard to sign in front of u by the time it got to the frank there was some how another random backed up pile which you were handed one from instead very strange. Then as most actors had gone to lunch manage to get a quick photo with bai ling tried to have a chat but felt like she had no idea what I was saying I assumed her English was ok but didn't come across that way. Joint the queue for a photo with the iron throne which up close didn't look that inpressie but the photos came out very well I'm very happy with it Had a quick walk around the stalls but my sickness kept kicking in so I had to take a break so went and got another free sketch from kev hopgood - tried for another jim starlin but he kept disapearing. Lunchs and talks were over so all guests were back so rejoined the Iain Glen line and at last got my two autos and photo at desk - was the most rushed queue I been in today - which I paid for- which was a shame as he such a good character would been nice to discuss. And with that I was officially done just had my Gary Frank sketches to collect but as they were not quiet ready went around blagging photos at the desks - Danielle Harris from Halloween 4 and 5 very sweet and pretty, the primeval guys ben Mansfield and ciaran Mcmenimen nice but the best was lord of rings and sparticus actor Craig Parker so warm so funny and a genuine pleasure to meet. That's pretty much my day spent more Money then expected but got alot more then usual for it- 11 sketches many photos with and sitting on the iron throne. Below are photos, Autos and sketchs - i also got about 200 comics signed but won post them here This weekend was Starfurys first Dr Who convention celebrating the eleventh
doctors time on the show with guests: Matt Smith, Mark Shepphers, W Morgan Sheppherd,Catrin Stewart,Frances Barber,Neve Mckintosh,Simon Fisher Becker,Jim Swallow, Tony Lee, Christina Chung and Dan Starky Sadly Alex KIngston had cancelled the event a few days before it began. The first thing that I noticed when arrived on the Friday was how busy the event was. Most conventions over the last few years average between 250- 400 attendees there was about 600 here and I recognised very few. This event was going to be different but would that be good or bad? The opening ceremony began as usual - delayed but that was fine for me as was rubbing late anyway. The guests appeared on stage one by one and gave brief introduction. This event was different as there were slot of guests only doing certain days so catrin Stewart, Matt smith and simon Milligan were not here yet Highlights were defiantly the guests who appeared to fully embrace their characters and the show itself- simon baker fisher I'm looking at you. Any guest that can make me laugh is defiantly a winner, then as just like that it was over and the quests all left to go to the gold passes meet and greet whilst rest of us got the party going. The next morning after very little sleep was off to the 1st photo shoot of the day - all very quick all very organised as per usual - quick hellos to the guests slight mockery as I had lost most of my voice. Then was off to enjoy the talks for the rest of the day, I wasn't sure what to expect from these as didn't know any of the guests other then the shepherds so went in completly unassuming and to hopefully enjoy. First talk I caught was the end of Jim Swallows and Tony Lee as they discussed how hard it is to write official tie in material when show stil ongoing as not to mess with continuity and future plans. The next talk was simon fisher baker and dan starky these two were very funny and egar to answer almost anything, Dan kept listing more and more silly jobs for sontarans - angry stationary staff, gardeners, stamp collectors. Simon was telling of his excitment working on the show and how shocked he was that he had the last line in the latest series of the show, you could see as they talked how much love they had for the show. Up next were Frances Barber and Christina Chong - frances stole the talk with her infectious warmth and happiness. With her long career she had many stories about other co stars and friends- how Ian mckellan was a big kid who collects, plays and breaks action figures She discussed the fun of acting with an eyepatch and the time she visited the Peter jacksons house with sylvester McCoy and that Peter Jackson has original costumes from dr who in displays. Christina Chong mentioned her family owned restaurant and that she liked her time on the show and hoped to return- but then the embarrassment happened someone asked her a question regarding k9 and she had no idea who he was. Very awkward moment. I'm glad frances had been paired up with her as I don't think Christina could handle a talk alone, having only done the one episode was hard to ask her Many things and she never came across as veryForthcoming with information. The next talk was the father son comedy duo of mark shepherd and w Morgan shepherd. They both been before mark pretty much lives on a starfury stage, their banter was hilarious and mark spent most of the talk walking around the room interacting with the audience and generally playing up to the crowd - which we all enjoyed- and the one question you never ask mark is " why do you always play bad characters " the one thing I always admire about marks talks is how passionate he gets about his job and how it comes across to the fans - including taking his name of credits at beginning of a show so his appearances can Neva surprise, and how he really answers a question in depth regarding how relatesto the medium. Morgan though a marvellous man great stories sadly couldn't hear most questions so his answers were hit and miss- always good but not always on subject. The final talk was between neve mcintosh and catrin Stewart both played great characters on the show and discussed the make up process and hopes of a possible but probably unlikely spin off. Catrin discussed her brief time on misfits. The autographs began as dan and Christina were only there the one day they had a separate room and queue which was steady dan seemed happy to chat and seemed very warm sadly Christina was head down sign move on even when it wasn't very busy was hard to get any reaction out of her which was a shame. After a long wait was through into the main auto room went steadily through mark,Frances and neve queues had nice brief chat with Catrin about misfits and simon about his character. The longest queue was at the end for w Morgan shepherd who loved my original star trek next generation trading card from his first appearance he discussed how he got the part when Gene Roddenbury himself saw him outside audition and they hit it off. And from there he guest stared in almost each spin- off of star trek. He also let slip that the W stands for William but he not like that name but can't say it too loud as marks son named William after him. Then had to rush off to get ready for my group entry for the fancy dress. We had decided to do the eleven doctors and a tardis but ten minutes before we had to meet we lost our fith and sith doctors and so we began to panic luckily i have friends easily bribed into helping. Can still hear the protests as we slipped on thier jackets and wigs and frog marched them out to the crowed. We did have a routine planned but when we couldn't have the music we wanted we were just going to do the standard walk around but last minute inspiration gave me the Idea that we should walk in shout out how very boring and un doctor like this was and then we all joint up and did the conga. The guests and crowd really enjoyed it which is why were awarded best group entry losing out to Lydia matts who won with an amazing entry though we won't applaud her too much as she dropped out or group to do it. The day I was dreading began - Matt Smith Sunday -I was expecting chaos, this many fans all wanting him in such short space of time was going to be mental. Arrived at the photo shoot prepared for the worse and was totally surprised at how well organised and quick the line was. Photo was taken at normal speed not felt like bring rushed through could see Matt taking time with each person and messing around and posing when asked, he seemed like he was having fun. I only had one more photo shoot that day with the guy who played Nixon - Stuart milligan which though smaller line seemed to take alot longer After this was much the same as yesterday great talks by all but each one stolen by mark shepherd and simon fisher baker who just so much fun. Before the main talk that everyone was eagerly awaited had a quick run around the auto room getting my Matt smiths and Stuart milligans done - nice brief chat with Matt about as he put it "the downfall of the ponds " and how in a show like this is very different to most as it's not carried by actors it's all about the doctor so no actors job is ever safe. Even though he had Been signing for a few hours he still seemed full of energy and took time to greet each fan. Then the main event the talk we had all been waiting for ... We took our seats and out came.... Sean Harry - at last i thought he going to tell us all about his acting past but alas no he introduced Matt smith to the stage to which the room erruptred - have not seen a response to a guest this big in a long time. With Sean being a huge doctor who geek he took the chance to interview matt at the start before opening the floor to questions. Was a fun talk with many varied questions and Matt trying his best not to let slip any spoilers especially regarding the new companion. Though he couldn't hide his smile when a certain alien rumour came up. Was great to see Matt change from himself to the doctor when ever a child asked a question. Was a good talk definitely worth the hype. Sadly I had to dash so missed closing ceremony. Overall was a great weekend good guests not seem as busy as it was, fun parties all photos came out well and matts autograph at £10 was a bargain. Starfurys first doctor who event was a roaring success and winning best group fancy dress entry helped sweeten the weekend On route home from a very exhausting day at collectormania. Arrived about 10am expecting that to be too late to get a decent virtual queue ticket and then I would be stuck there for hours waiting and waiting for my autos... I was half wrong. My first quest of the day was Finn Jones from game of thrones a very friendly chat and a good Start to the day. For a Saturday event this was very quiet open queues for most guests already so I stopped on my Jason momoa line to get my game of thrones Blu ray signed having met him previously I expected a nice warm reception to which he has always been with fans before as, the queue moved steadily I realised I couldn't hear him talking much as I approached I got my autos and tried to make conversation but he just wasn't really playing ball, was friendly enough but not a great meet, there was a no posed sign up but you know me always break the rules. Next was on to Brandon routh who I also met before and again was a friendly nice guy- we discussed his character in chuck and how was annoyed they made him evil as a cop out - he agreed but was happy he got to play him with all the different range this time there was no sign regarding posed photos so I asked as I had worn my nerd herd T shirt especially buy he advised he wasn't allowed and photos only when he was signing. A Shame and a practice getting more and more frequent. Michael dorn next who again met before so wasn't expecting alot as he cane across grumpy before and this time was no exception a quick hello signed my pix and refused a photo again no sign so embarrassing had to be rejected. Passing the tables I saw that most he quests were empty queue and this was not even 11am so met the warden from Alcatraz who was nice but not really seen the show so couldn't chat for long. As I left him I noticed phil lamarr sitting next to him - have met him before but didn't realise he was in transformers animated so I had to stop for a chat and auto. Next up was caitlin Blackwood from dr who - usually I not get autos from people younger the me but she was quiet and still looks like she did in the show always hate meeting someone who you remember one way but when meet them they so diff looking. She was nice but very quick meet as she was running off for photo shoot. My final auto of the morning was from the lovely Lena headly she was so sweet and funny and really cane across well. Was a pleasurable meet. As most of the guests had now gone for lunch and photos I walked around the dealers room- the only warm place in the who stadium- though there wasn't much there for me. After a spot of lunch was time for my photo shoot with lena was nice and rushed but the photo came out ok. The last autograph of the day for me was dead like me's callum blue who was so genuine nice and fun guy- telling me how much he enjoyed dead like me and how though the wrap up movie was good but with recasts etc was missing something. He told of how he didn't like his time on the tudars as he was ment to have a large part but due to a broken elbow - he showed us the scar- he had to drop out of filming. Discussed the film frenemy and how they missold it on zack galifinikas fame even though he in one scene. Really fun guy and best meet at this event. My friend Luke wanted to meet lance henrickson and get a severed hand prosthetic signed so along I went for photo. lance found it very funny and loved it. As i passed to auto line again i saw that Sophie Woo was sitting alone looking bored so i went over for a chat/flirt and photo with. My friend Emma recently at Inva2ion dressed as a steam punk Samwise from Lord Of The Rings so we went to meet samwise himself Sean Astin to get his auto show off a photo of her in costume. He was so nice loved the costume and even signed her Hobbit feet for free and with that i was done. just had to wait for my lena photo shoot to return it had been about 2 hours should be back by now shouldnt it?....No so what to do to spend the time other then walk around and around i got a photo shoot with brandon routh. This turned out to be a nightmare as they were delayed but didnt tell us till been queuing for a while then they kept moving us due to colour tickets after leaving us for ages. finally went through and photo taken. I then spent the next 2 hours plus killing time for my photo shoots to return - i finally got my lena at half 5 and gave up waiitng for my brandon one and will have to wait for it to be posted. Other then the long wait for photo shoots today was good but a few issues i had The Venue- its open planned football stadium its cold all the guests were complaining about it and had extra layers on. The Guests had open queues and yet still no photos at desk and no signs to say anything so made to look a fool when ask and get rejected. The photo shoot lines and distribution were all over the place and noone had any info to help they were mostly going by guess work. . This past Saturday was the mcm London expo an event that I not a fan of anymore. Once upon a time it was a nice relaxed place to meet celebs and get autos then the manga took over and it became a cramped smelly crazy mess. Yes it still had great guests both from film and comics but it was harder to get then done. Harder to get photos at the desks and with a new timetables signing sheduale it was harder to meet everyone you wanted. This year it was still unorganised still awkward and cramped but I had a good time, well a better time then expected. I arrived at about 9am due to delayed public transport and had to join the crazy line of people- many in costume there must have been a good few hundred ahead of me. I finally got in to main hall about 9:45 and rushed to pick up my smilies ( smilies are the expo equivalent of money you pay one guy £15 per smilie and then you trade them for an auto with the guest of your choice)
Then off to my first signing of the day - Sarah shahi which was set to start at 9:30. I was first in her queue and no guest no photos just empty space awaiting an arrival - i looked around to see other queues forming for the other guests due to start imminently still no printed photos. One of the stewards even asked if we had personal items as they didn't think they were having photos. Finally photos darted to arrive about 10ish for the other guests who were not due to start for another half hour. . . . So i waited and waited. Sarah carter from falling skies arrived and sat at her spot and started signing for her medium sized line. She was very sweet very welcoming to her fans and very pretty. As her line got shorter and shorter I jumped over to say hi and get my friends autograph from her. She chatted about smallville and how falling skies was going to be so good ( I hope sonas season one was so boring) we concluded our chat with photo and me trying to blag invite to hang out with her and Holly valance for the rest of weekend ( if your going to mention it to me Sarah you should at least invite me it's only fair) 10;30 still no Sarah shahi but there was at least 4 photos now to get signed - I not mean four sets I mean four physical photos they hang keep running over and leaving a new one as soon as they came off the printer. Very unorganised - was hearing rumours that they hadn't even had them approved yet that's why taking so long. The next falling skies actress Seychelle Gabriel's queue had died down so I jumped over to her to get some autos for my friends ( this was the cheapest expo for me ever ) had a nice rushed chat and photo as Sarah shahi turned up and I had to dash back for a very rushed flirt auto and photo. I then had to rush over to the free signing of Michael Sinterniklaas as I huge venture brothers fan and he is the voice of one of the main characters. After a long wait - about 45 minutes I approached him and saw my teefury venture brothers Tshirt and loved it and started chatting about if show was aired here the DVD boxes as different to ones he had see before. He was a great meet very fun and loved discussing the show and FREE autos.Next up was Raphael Sbarge who was the friendliest guest i have met in years really genuinely happy to be meeting fans and loved discussing Once Upon A Time i was only meeting him at first for a friend but he was so nice i had to buy one myself. Like most guests he had a very small queue i never saw any guest have more then 20 in a queue at any time mostly was less then 10. my final guest of the morning was star of Grimm David Giuntoli but as i approched him he ran out of photos so had to wait for some to be printed had nice chat about the show and how i (lied) enjoyed it and looked forward to season 2- sadly i didnt mean it as find show boring bu my friend wanted his auto. I heard that Cassandra peterson was attending i had met her before for a friends birthday present so i wasnt going to meet her again until i heard that she was dressed in her full Elvira costume. I had to go meet her now and she was as fun and friendsly as ever - and looking good for a lady of her age. After a break for food i went through the open queue for the free signing of Young Dracula cast all seemed really nice but felt bad as noone knew who they were. As was passing i met the two people from Teen wolf again for a friend as i never watched it. They both seemed friendly and Holland Roden who was very pretty. That was me done with the Tv side of the event next on to the comic side. first off met with a Expo regular Frazer Irving who drew me a great Black bolt sketch on one of my sketch covers. Then on to the loveable irish rogue that is transformer artist Nick roche who signed my comics and a nice Galvatron sketch which he signed to WADE!!! wade!!! i known him for years and he gets me mixed up with Wade!! wade is from new zealand!!! anyway we fixed it in the end but very embarrassing all round. Next i made a rookie mistake: There were to big comic names i went to meet Marv Wolfman and Teenage mutant ninja turtle creator Kevin Eastman. Eastman started signing at 3pm marv at 3:30 i could start either queue but marv was who i was after the most and as he a big name i assumed he would be busy so i chose marv . kevin started on the dot at 3pm and if i had been first i would have been done in about 10 minutes as he was sketching but no i waited for Marv who had....three of us !!!! three!!! so was done in minutes then had to wait or 2 hours for eastman to get to me. 2 HOURS!!!! such a rookie mistake should have known better. Marv was nice but was hard to talk to and so was brief. Kevin on the other hand was great really full of energy made each person who met him feel important and sketching for all who wanted. And as i left the creator of skullkickers ben zub was sitting bored as he had no queue got a few free signed comics Well thats it all in all i did very well got alot of free autos alot of free photos with the guests and 4 sketches below are my photos with, skeches and autos ( signed comics not shown) This past weekend was the 3 day convention celebration of sci fi-Starfurys Inva2ion. Guests In attendence were: Eliza Dushku, Felicia Day, Dichen Lachman, Elyse Levesque, Alaina Huffman, Alessandra Torresani, Aaron Douglas, Amy Okuda, Robin Thorsen For those who have never attended a weekend convention- shame on you- people have a stereotype of what kind of things happen at these events and the type of people who attend. Yes there a few of those type people but the majority are all normal fun people who are all brought together by the love of a favorite show or genre. Noone is judged be they straight, gay, Bi, black or what ever. Cons are the most tollerant places in the world and i have full respect to all that attend. But i digress back to the Inva2ion review. Day 1: Friday 11th May After checking in to the Rennesance Hotel in Heathrow i queued up to pick up the 8x10 photos to get signed- there was an amazing selection for the guests ranging from gorgeous glamour to screen caps and at £10 per pic including autograph i dived right in and brought about 13!!! and then photo shoots with most of the guests- didnt bother with Aaron or Dichen and have had many in the past...though regret that now as some good fun ones coming out from others. As we awaited the evenings festivities my group and i were lucky enough to be sittign and chatting with Aaron Douglas in the bar area- which would become his home away from home this weekend. The great thing about Aaron is that he brings such a friendly presence to the room you forget he is a celeb guest and just act like he is part of the group. A genuinely fun friendly guy who really enjoys these events and meeting fans. The Opening ceremony started on usual con time - about 30 mins late. By about 8:30 the hall was full and the atmosphere full of nervous tension and excitement- had all the guests arrived? were there suprises? how sexy was Eliza going to look ? and would she spot me across the crowded room and fall instanly in love with me?...hey it could happen..maybe... Sean took to the stage and the guest came a flowing.
The guests came out one by one and introduced them selves and all seemed a friendly excited bunch and really made the weekend feel like it had begun and that we were all in for a great weekend..oh how right they were.Sadly i couldnt attend the meet and greet due to only being a regular ticket holder but from what i hear each guest made a fantatsic impression to all the attendees. But i didnt care I was away dancing on the dance floor until the early hours of saturday. Con Dances are a great work out but more on them later. Day 2- Saturday 12th May As i awoke from my minimal sleep for the first of the days activities. At 9am the photo shoots began Few fun mentions from photo shoots 1) was 1st for photo with Allesandra so was abloe to have nice fun chat, she so adorable 2) Felicia asking me not to flash her my penis - my response made her chuckle 3) Elyse loved my manly grabbing of her and bringing her close for a hug. hehe pretty lady said i was manly 4) and yes i am holding Eliza as tight as i poss could she will be mine oh yes she will be mine Rolling on the the talks 1st up was Jim Swallows which i only caught the end of due to photo shoot clashes but from what i heard expect big anouncments from him in future. The next talk was the suprisingly funny Stargate Universe. Elyse and Alaina were on top form- Rapping, swapping fun stories about their time on show and thier fellow cast mates. Mostly suprised due to this being the first real con they had done how comfortable and relaxed they were. Cant remember many spercific questions or answers but do rememebr the laughing and the relaxed enviroment. Up next were two starfury veterans Alesandra and Aaron, Highlights of this talk included Aaron meeting Robin Williams who was as big a fan of Aaron as Aaron was to him, introducing George Lucas to battlestar and not knowing who Joss Whedon was , His first scene torture and a revenge boxing with Edward Almos and Aaron letting his son down when he wouldnt take him for a test drive in a Viper. Aaron was full of stories and loved telling them and jumping about the stage- Alesandra sat there as amazed as the rest of us taking in each tale and looking so so pretty. The Guild girls took to the stage, all came across very fun and friendly- Felicia talking about processes and her online shows and they were presented with kinder eggs and loved the idea of them and playing with the toys. Felicia really is Queen of the geeks. The final talk of the day was with Eliza and Dichen stars of Dollhouse and this was the one i was not sure how it would be- Eliza had been coming off a bit of a diva and very by the contract spercific so wasnt sure if this would be a sensible affair or if she would just let go and enjoy herself. Im happy to say she came across very well and semed to give very honest answers- not a fan of her show tru calling, her creative side and producing. Sadly for Dichen there was more focus on Eliza but as this her first event and she the headliner it was to be expected. Fancy Dress |
